Family of 10-year-old boy killed in Lac La Belle crash says he will donate organs
The family of the 10-year-old boy who died Wednesday in a crash in Lac La Belle said he will be an organ donor.The Oconomowoc Area School District sent a letter to families Thursday about the crash and the victims.The letter identified the child who died as Jack Oudenhoven, a fourth-grade student at Meadow View Elementary. His family said that "Jack was a smart, well-liked, and athletic child who loved his teachers, friends, and school." The district said the 16-year-old driver and a front seat passenger who were injured were Jack's siblings, Levi and Reaghan Oudenhoven, who attend Oconomowoc High School. The crash happened about 7 a.m. on Highway 67 at McMahon Road in Lac La Belle. An SUV, driven by a 34-year-old, slammed into the back of the white SUV while the 16-year-old was waiting to turn left onto McMahon Road. "This is a heartbreaking situation, and I can’t express how deeply sorry I am for the Oudenhoven family's loss. Our school community is here to support the students, staff members, and families impacted by this tragedy," the district said in the letter.No one has been cited or arrested in the case.
