FAA investigating Gettysburg helicopter accident

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) - The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a weekend accident involving a small helicopter in Gettysburg. According to the FAA, around 5:30 p.m. on February 21, a Hughes 269 helicopter impacted a hangar while hovering. The aircraft, which was carrying a pilot and one passenger, came to rest on its side. The FAA says "substantial" damage was reported from the incident, and it's not known if anyone was injured. Aircraft data on the helicopter shows it is registered to an address in Orrtanna, Adams County, and was manufactured in 1966.
