EMS responds to separate car crash, boat crash

HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to two separate serious incidents over the night of Feb. 4 into the morning of Feb. 5. On Feb. 4, EMS responded to a two-car crash on Leihoku Street and Farrington Highway in Waiʻanae at approximately 7:30 p.m. One 18-year-old woman was taken to the hospital in serious condition as a result of the crash. A 2-year-old girl and a 3-month-old girl were also taken to the hospital in serious condition, EMS said. First responders also treated another toddler at the scene, but the toddler did not need to be transported to the hospital. The following morning, Feb. 5 at 7 a.m., EMS responded to the Ala Wai Boat Harbor, where a 70-year-old man in a small inflatable boat was apparently hit by a larger boat, officials said. After he was hit, he lost balance and hit his head, causing an injury, EMS said. The man was taken to the hospital in serious condition, and continued to receive treatment en route to the hospital.
