Elmira man killed in motorcycle crash
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) --- A 26-year-old Elmira man was killed Saturday afternoon in a crash involving a motorcycle and a car, according to the Elmira Police Department. Officers were called around 2:11 p.m. June 20 to the intersection of Clemens Center Parkway and Division Street for a report of a crash with injuries. When crews arrived, they found that a motorcycle and a car had collided. Elmira Police Officers, Chemung County Sheriffs Deputies, Elmira Fire Department, and EMS personnel all responded to the scene. Police said the motorcycle driver, 26-year-old Hunter Squires of Elmira, was pronounced deceased. The driver of the car was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Investigators said the car driver and witnesses have been cooperating, but the crash remains under investigation.
