Elderly couple dies in head-on collision near Oregon City
In a tragic incident just outside of Oregon City on Tuesday afternoon, two individuals lost their lives in a head-on collision. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office was called to the scene on S Redland Road near S Meadow View Drive and found a Jeep Cherokee and a Ram 2500 pickup truck severely damaged in a head-on crash, along with involvement of a Kia Forte. The driver and passenger of the Jeep, an 85-year-old man and an 82-year-old woman from Estacada, were sadly killed. The other drivers involved, including the 33-year-old Oregon City man driving the pickup, were fortunately not seriously injured. According to the pickup driver, the crash occurred near a curve in the road as the vehicles were moving in opposite directions. Authorities mentioned that the investigation is ongoing, but do not suspect impairment played a role in the accident. Additional details are pending.
