E-scooter rider hospitalized after collision in Clovis
A young man riding an electric scooter in Clovis, California was taken to the hospital on Saturday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle while crossing an intersection. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. when the man attempted to cross Clovis Avenue without wearing a helmet. The driver of a sedan stopped for him in the crosswalk, but a pickup truck behind the sedan failed to slow down and rear-ended it, causing the sedan to collide with the scooter. The man on the scooter suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. All drivers involved in the incident stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The Collision Reconstruction Unit is conducting further investigations, and there is no suspicion of alcohol or drug involvement in the crash.
