Durham police probe shooting, deadly collision near Wake Forest Hwy, possibly linked
Law enforcement officials in Durham, North Carolina are currently looking into a potential link between a shooting and a crash that occurred early on Saturday morning in the eastern part of Durham County. The Durham Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at around 1:30 a.m. on Lodestone Drive where evidence of a shooting was found but no individuals were injured. Shortly after, a separate fatal crash took place on Wake Forest Highway, about a mile and a half away from the shooting scene. Authorities are now investigating whether there is any connection between these two incidents. The driver involved in the crash was pronounced dead at the scene. The Durham Police Department is leading the investigation and is asking anyone who may have information regarding either incident to get in touch with Investigator J.
