Driver who killed woman in Lenexa DUI crash sentenced to more than 26 years

The California man who admitted to causing a fatal drunken driving crash that killed a Lenexa woman was sentenced in court on Tuesday. Vincent Perez was sentenced to 314 months in prison after previous pleading guilty to reckless second-degree murder and other charges. Perez admitted to driving drunk when he killed 71-year-old Susan Cameron in a September 2024 crash in the city. The judge sentenced him to 246 months for reckless second-degree murder and 68 months for aggravated battery. The sentences will be served consecutively, for a total of 314 months. He pleaded guilty on April 27.
