Blue Springs crash leaves one dead, one critical Thursday evening: police
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- One person is dead and another is in critical condition after a crash in Blue Springs Thursday evening. According to the Blue Springs Police Department, the crash happened around 5:20 p.m. at 19th Street and westbound 40 Highway. The westbound lanes of the highway are closed while the department investigates the crash. Blue Springs police shared that the driver of one vehicle involved in the crash was declared dead at a hospital after the crash. Another passenger in that vehicle is in critical condition as well. Another driver from a separate vehicle suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. At this time, information regarding how the crash occurred is unknown.
