Driver & pedestrian arrested after W. Main Street crash
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A driver and a pedestrian were arrested at the scene of a crash on West Main Street Sunday night. Police were seen blocking the intersection of Canal Street and West Main Street as they continued the investigation. The Rochester Police Department said Monday morning that they responded to the scene involving a vehicle striking a parked car and a pedestrian. Officers said a white SUV was heading east on West Main Street when the driver lost control, possibly grazed a pedestrian, and rear-ended a parked car. They add that the driver, a 51-year-old woman, was arrested on DWI-related offenses. The pedestrian, A 27-year-old man from Rochester, refused medical attention. He was arrested and faces weapon-related charges after officers say they found a handgun at the scene. AMR Ambulance and the New York State Police also responded to the scene.
