1 killed, 1 injured in Elk Grove crash, police say
One person is dead and another is injured following a crash in Elk Grove involving two vehicles, according to police. The Elk Grove Police Department said the crash happened around 9:15 p.m. on Elk Grove Boulevard. A vehicle went airborne after striking a center median on westbound Elk Grove Boulevard, then struck another vehicle in an eastbound lane, police said. Both people were sole occupants in their vehicles.Alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash, police said. The crash has prompted road closures in both directions on Elk Grove Boulevard between Waterfowl Drive and East Taron Drive.Police said the roads should be for about one to two hours.This is a developing story.
