Driver passes away after vehicle crashes into retaining wall in Kansas City.
Kansas City police have reported that a man who was involved in a crash at the end of December has passed away, marking the city's second traffic fatality in 2026. The man died on Tuesday from injuries sustained in the December 28th incident at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Rockhill Road. According to police, the crash occurred when the vehicle was speeding on MLK Boulevard, veered off the road, and hit a retaining wall near the Stowers Institute. The driver suffered critical injuries and later died in the hospital, while a passenger in the vehicle was treated for minor injuries. The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
