Driver killed in Old U.S. 24 crash identified
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The driver who died after he crashed into a pickup truck last Friday northeast of New Haven has been identified by the Allen County Coroner's Office. Carlos Valadez, 53, of Fort Wayne died from multiple blunt force injuries due to a motor vehicle crash and his death is accidental. Police say Valadez was driving east on Old U.S. 24 just before 5:30 a.m. when for he crossed the center line and hit the pickup. The pickup driver was taken to a hospital for treatment. The coroner's office reports that Valdez' death was the 12th motor vehicle fatality in Allen County in 2026.
