Driver injured when tractor-trailer rolls over in Durham
Route 4 in Durham was closed Tuesday from the intersection with Route 108 to Back River Road after Durham police say a tractor-trailer lost control and flipped over.Durham Police Chief Rene Kelley said the driver lost control of the tractor-trailer after driving into a ditch along the shoulder of Route 4 eastbound, causing the vehicle to roll up an embankment and overturn.The driver was briefly trapped inside the vehicle before being rescued by first responders and taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.“He was entrapped for a short period of time. He was extracted and taken to a Portsmouth regional hospital,” Kelley said.Kelley added that the driver was conscious and speaking with officers when they arrived at the scene.
