Driver in Massachusetts to face charges after chase leads to fatal collision

Smith, and serious injuries to a 78-year-old female passenger from Stoughton. The driver, Jason Ortiz, 26, has been charged with several offenses including motor vehicle homicide and fleeing the scene of an accident. He was pursued by Brockton officers for failing to stop, which resulted in the tragic collision. After the crash, Ortiz attempted to flee but was eventually caught with the assistance of law enforcement and canine units. The Norfolk County District Attorney's Office reported these events and stated that Ortiz will be arraigned in Stoughton District Court on Monday.
