Driver going the wrong way charged in deadly crash on I-89 in Bolton
A fatal three-vehicle collision in Bolton resulted in charges for a driver who was traveling in the wrong direction. The Vermont State Police accused Timothy Wooster, 45, of Jericho, of grossly negligent operation leading to the death of Hailey Westcot, 21, of Northfield. The crash occurred when Wooster, driving north on I-89, crossed the median and collided head-on with Westcot's vehicle. Despite the tragic outcome, the driver of a tractor-trailer that was involved in the collision behind Westcot was unharmed and not found at fault. Wooster sustained serious injuries and was taken to the University of Vermont Medical Center. He is expected to appear in court in January, with the possibility of additional charges pending the ongoing investigation. The accident caused significant traffic delays as authorities worked to clear the roadway.
