Driver escapes crash in Fairmont after removal of car windshield
In Fairmont, West Virginia, a vehicle crash in Marion County led to the removal of the windshield to free a trapped individual. The incident occurred on Coalbank Hill Road on Saturday, December 13, just before 9 a.m. The Valley Volunteer Fire Department shared details on Facebook, mentioning that due to reports of entrapment, rescue teams from Boothsville and Monongah fire departments were also called to the scene. The driver, who remained conscious and alert, was trapped inside a vehicle that had collided with a tree and overturned. After stabilizing the vehicle, rescue personnel safely removed the windshield to extract the driver, who was then assessed by the Marion County Rescue Squad. The West Virginia State Police, the Marion County Sheriff's Department, and the Whitehall Police Department also arrived at the accident site to provide assistance.
