Driver dies in fatal Trumbull County crash: OSHP
SOUTHINGTON, Ohio (WKBN)- The Warren post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash from Tuesday night. Troopers are investigating a one-vehicle crash that occurred on Oakfield North Road Northwest near Mahan Denman Road Northwest in Bristol Township around 8 p.m. Reports said that the driver was traveling southbound on Oakfield North Road Northwest and went off the side of the road and struck a ditch. Reports said that the vehicle caught fire, with the driver trapped inside. OSHP said that the driver was pronounced dead at the scene after lifesaving efforts. OSHP has not identified the driver. The identity of the driver will be released at a later date. No other vehicles or occupants were involved. Troopers said that alcohol or drug use is suspected to be a factor in the crash. Reports said that the incident remains under investigation. The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Department, Trumbull County Coroner’s Office, Farmington Fire and EMS, and Bristol Fire Department assisted at the scene.
