Driver dies after violent single-car crash in Lake Elsinore

A deadly single-vehicle crash in Lake Elsinore is under investigation after a driver was killed Friday night, authorities said. Deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff's Office responded around 9:34 p.m. to the area of Spring Street and Library Street regarding a traffic collision, according to a department news release. When deputies arrived, they found a crashed vehicle and a driver suffering from significant injuries. Deputies and paramedics attempted life-saving measures at the scene, but the driver was pronounced dead, officials said. The Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station Traffic Team responded and took over the investigation. Authorities have not yet determined what caused the crash, and no arrests have been made.  The driver’s identity was not immediately released pending notification of next of kin.
