Driver detained following deadly accident on Highway 46 in Paso Robles
A crash on Highway 46 early Thursday morning resulted in a fatality and a driver arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter. The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Golden Hill Road and Highway 46. The collision involved a 63-year-old Paso Robles man in a Lexus who was rear-ended by a box truck driven by a 25-year-old Bakersfield man. The Lexus driver tragically lost his life, while the box truck driver was taken into custody. Although drugs and alcohol are not believed to have played a role in the crash, Paso Robles Police Department is continuing their investigation into the incident.
