Driver charged with homicide by vehicle for deadly head-on crash in Clovis
The driver blamed for a deadly head-on crash in Clovis is out of the hospital and in jail. Carlos Terrazas-Hernandez, 41, was booked into the Curry County Jail on Tuesday. He's charged with homicide by vehicle (driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor (and or any drug)). According to New Mexico State Police, Terrazas-Hernandez was traveling east on NM 245 on June 12 when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with another car. The other driver, Juan Jose Ramirez, 26, of Clovis, was pronounced dead at the scene. Terrazas-Hernandez sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital before being airlifted to Lubbock. He was extradited back to Clovis after being released from the hospital.
