Driver charged after woman killed in US 290 crash
A man named Jordan Micah Atkins, 32, has been accused of intoxication manslaughter following a collision on US 290 that occurred on December 20. The crash, located at the 8400 block of E. US 290's westbound lanes, involved the SUV driven by Atkins and a tow truck. Unfortunately, Atkins' passenger, an unidentified woman, lost her life in the accident. This marks the 89th investigated crash in Austin this year, with a total of 93 fatalities in accidents by that time. Atkins has posted a $20,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on January 13.
