Authorities in Albuquerque have arrested 24-year-old Joshua Montoya in connection with a fatal crash believed to be caused by drunk driving. The incident occurred at the junction of Wyoming Boulevard and Indian School Road NE. According to preliminary investigations, Montoya's Honda was speeding at the time of the collision. The other vehicle involved, a Lincoln, was making a left turn at the intersection with obstructed visibility due to a U-Haul. Unfortunately, a passenger in the Lincoln lost their life as a result of the crash. Both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital. Montoya confessed to consuming alcohol, and now faces charges of vehicular homicide and driving under the influence leading to severe bodily harm.
