Driver arrested in deadly hit-and-run in Watertown
A tragic hit-and-run incident occurred in downtown Watertown during the early hours of Sunday, Dec. 21, resulting in the death of a 35-year-old pedestrian. The incident began at 5th and Main and ended at 2nd and Main. The suspected driver fled the scene, but through the police's investigation using license plate reader data and video evidence, the vehicle was identified, and the 54-year-old owner was apprehended at his residence. Subsequently, he was arrested and charged with several offenses including homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and hit-and-run causing death.
