Dorchester County Coronor identifies victim following fatal crash on I-26 Saturday morning
DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) - The Dorchester County Coroner has identified the victim following a fatal crash that occurred early Saturday morning on I-26 eastbound at the 172-mile marker, near Saint George. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, at 4:30 a.m. on I-26 eastbound, a 2013 Hyundai Sedan rear-ended a 2013 Freightliner semi truck, causing the Sedan to overturn many times. The driver was ejected from the Sedan, landed in the roadway, and was struck byanother vehicle, says Dorchester County Coroner. The victim has been identified as Lucca Acosta-Navas, 19, of Huger, and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dorchester County Coroner at 5:53 am. An autopsy at the Medical University of South Carolina will be on Wednesday. The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office are investigating the collision.
