Distracted driver causes 6-vehicle collision on I-10
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Emergency responders were dispatched to a major motor vehicle accident on Interstate 10 westbound in Anthony, Texas, according to the Anthony Chief of Police, Carlos Enriquez. The crash happened around 7 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, at Mile Marker 1 near the Texas-New Mexico state line. Chief Enriquez reported that preliminary investigation showed that westbound traffic was slowing due to a stalled vehicle on I-10. As vehicles slowed down, a "distracted" semi tractor-trailer driver failed to stop in time and created a chain-reaction collision involving six vehicles. No injuries have been reported.
