Des Moines man charged in fatal Bremer County crash
A Des Moines man is facing charges in connection with a deadly crash south of Tripoli last year. According to court documents, on Aug. 23, Lal Puia Sai Lo was driving east on 190th Street when he failed to stop at the intersection of Piedmont Avenue. Puia Sai Lo's Toyota Tacoma collided with a Ford F-150 headed south. Lungawia Chalthleng, 41, of Urbandale, one of three passengers inside Puia Sai Lo's pickup truck, was killed. The driver of the other vehicle was seriously injured. Puia Sai Lo is charged with homicide by vehicle through reckless driving and serious injury by vehicle. He's being held in the Bremer County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
