Deputies: Bicyclist hit by pickup truck near Cannonsburg
CANNON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies say a bicyclist was hit by a pickup truck and seriously injured Thursday morning in Cannon Township. It happened at Cannonsburg Road NE and Myers Lake Avenue NE. The bicyclist, described only as a male, was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, according to the Kent County Sheriff's Office. At the scene, a News 8 crew saw a bicycle and a helmet on the ground. Deputies did not specify what led up to the crash, but they told News 8 it was not a hit-and-run — the driver of the pickup truck stayed on scene. As of 8:15 a.m., the crash was blocking the intersection, according to the sheriff's office. Drivers should seek an alternate route.
