Deadly single-car accident in Clay County
A recent single-vehicle accident in Clay County has tragically resulted in the death of a 72-year-old man named Samuel Joseph Litteken from Henrietta. Litteken was pronounced dead at the crash site, located just four miles South of Jolly. An initial examination suggests that Litteken, driving a 1998 Ford F150, was heading South on FM 2393 at 5:22 a.m. on January 8 when his vehicle veered off the road, rolled, and collided with a fence after failing to stay in a single lane. Unfortunately, Litteken was not wearing a seatbelt, leading to his ejection from the vehicle. Texas Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident.
