Deadly crash injures 4 teens in Wayne County

An investigation is underway following a tragic incident in Wayne County, Indiana, where a 13-year-old lost their life and four other teenagers were hurt in a collision involving a stolen vehicle early Saturday morning. The Wayne County Sheriff's Office reported that a vehicle carrying multiple occupants veered off the road and hit trees around 2:33 a.m. near the Indiana-Ohio border. The 2007 Chevrolet Equinox involved was discovered on the north side of the road after failing to negotiate a curve as it transitioned from State Line Road to Greenmount Pike. Of the five individuals in the vehicle, the 13-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 17-year-old driver and two other occupants sustained injuries. The authorities found out later that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Richmond two days prior to the crash. Investigations are ongoing, and further details have not been provided at this time.
