Deadly crash in Colorado after father and son race, says Lakewood police

Two individuals suspected of participating in street racing, which allegedly led to a fatal car accident that claimed the lives of two individuals in Colorado, have been taken into custody by Lakewood police. The two individuals involved are related as father and son, identified as Gregory Mark Giles, 65, and Bryce Anneaus Giles, 26. They surrendered to authorities on Monday night following the incident that occurred on November 13 in Lakewood. The crash resulted in multiple vehicles being involved and five individuals requiring hospitalization, with two fatalities identified as Demi Iglesias, 26, and Dalton Smith, 28. Law enforcement authorities have implicated a car race involving Gregory and Bryce Giles as the cause of the tragic collision. Both have been arrested on charges that include suspicion of committing vehicular homicide, reckless driving, and participating in an illegal speed competition.
