Deadly crash impacts traffic on I-8 in El Cajon on Memorial Day morning
(FOX 5/KUSI) — A deadly early-morning crash is continuing to impact traffic along Interstate 8 through central El Cajon this Memorial Day. The crash happened along the westbound lanes of the interstate near Mollison Avenue around 3:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol's incident logs. A FOX 5/KUSI news team at the site saw what appeared to be a white vehicle with heavy front-end damage being pulled up from an embankment during the 6 a.m. hour. The crash initially prompted the closure of the westbound lanes for some time, after which just one lane was reopened.
