Deadly crash closes Stockton Boulevard in Sacramento
(FOX40.COM) — A deadly crash is impacting traffic Wednesday morning along Stockton Boulevard in Sacramento, according to the Sacramento Police Department. SPD and the Sacramento Fire Department responded to reports of a crash just after 4 a.m. in the 5500 block of Stockton Boulevard. A person was hit by a minivan near the shopping plaza of Foods Co., Harbor Freight and Dollar Tree. The circumstances leading up to the crash are still under investigation, but the driver is cooperating with police. SPD performed a field sobriety test and placed the driver in the back of a patrol vehicle while they processed the scene. SPD has not indicated if drugs or alcohol are believed to be a factor in the crash. Both directions of Stockton Boulevard are closed at Fruitridge Road and Lawrence Drive. The identity of the victim has not been released. There is no estimated time for when the roadway will reopen.
