Deadly car crash closes East Bay streets
A serious traffic accident in Fremont on Monday afternoon resulted in the closure of some roads, according to the Fremont Police Department (FPD). Police were called to the scene of a collision involving a pickup truck and a motorcyclist at around 3:09 p.m. FPD later urged drivers to steer clear of eastbound Cushing Parkway and Northport Loop for several hours following the incident. The motorcyclist sustained severe injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where they unfortunately succumbed to their injuries about an hour later. The pickup truck driver remained unharmed. This marks the second fatal traffic incident in Fremont this year. FPD is currently investigating the crash and asks anyone who witnessed it or has information to contact the Fremont Police Traffic Unit at 510-790-6760.
