Deadly Accident on Highway 101 near Dos Pueblos Canyon Road in Goleta
A tragic incident occurred early Thursday morning on U.S. Highway 101 in Goleta, resulting in one fatality and leading to lane closures in Santa Barbara County. The crash, which took place around 3:16 a.m. on the southbound side of Highway 101 near Dos Pueblos Canyon Road, involved a vehicle veering off the right-hand side of the road. California Highway Patrol responded by requesting a closure of parts of the highway to facilitate emergency crew access for investigation. Lane closures were implemented, with the No. 2 lane remaining closed as the fatality investigation unfolded. Tow crews from Smitty’s Tow of Santa Barbara were dispatched to the scene for assistance.
