Danville police merit board vice president arrested after crash
DANVILLE, Ind. — The vice president of the Danville Police Department's Merit Board has been arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated after a two-vehicle crash late Friday afternoon. Officers with the Danville Police Department were called to the area of East Main Street and Stratford Avenue around 5:18 p.m. on reports of a two-vehicle property damage crash. Once they arrived, they were advised that one individual who was reportedly involved may have been intoxicated. According to DPD, the investigation of the crash is being handled by the Hendricks County Sheriff's Department due to the involvement of a member of the DPD Merit Board. 55-year-old Dennis Wynn, who serves as the board's vice president. Hendricks County Sheriff deputies responded to the crash scene and Wynn was arrested. He is facing the following preliminary charges: Wynn's current term as vice president is set to expire at the end of 2027. This is a developing story; check back for updates.
