CSPD: Fatal pedestrian crash closes northbound Academy at Vickers
(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A traffic collision took the life of one person on Wednesday, March 18, when a vehicle hit a pedestrian at the intersection of North Academy Boulevard and Vickers Drive, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD). CSPD reported that at around 6:30 a.m., a vehicle hit a pedestrian, causing the person's death. Police said that the driver remained at the scene. All northbound lanes of Academy are closed at Vickers, and one southbound lane of Academy is open. Drivers should expect delays and take alternate routes if possible.
