Crash while avoiding deer leaves one dead, one injured
One person is dead, and another is injured after a collision in Orangeburg County on Thursday, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Authorities say the collision occurred around 9:30 p.m. on U.S. 176 near Coach Road. A Honda Accord traveling east on U.S. 176 ran off the road while trying to avoid a deer, overturned, and hit a tree, according to authorities. The driver of the Honda died from their injuries. A passenger was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries. The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
