Crash on I-469 halts traffic in northeast Allen County

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) -- A crash on I-469 just outside Fort Wayne's city limits brought traffic to a complete stop in the southbound lanes. Traffic has now sped up to a crawl, and the crash has been cleared. At around 2:12 p.m. on Wednesday, police and medics were called to a crash on I-469 near the 24-mile marker, which brought already slow traffic to a halt. Road construction in the area around the Maysville Road exit has exacerbated the traffic. Allen County Dispatch confirmed with WANE 15 that the crash involved injuries, but could not say how many people were injured or the severity of the injuries. On the Indiana Department of Transportation's Trafficwise map, both southbound lanes were shut down as a result of the crash. The map now shows the traffic crawling in a singular southbound lane. A WANE 15 crew member at the scene observed that the crash had been cleared. This article will be updated as more information becomes available.
