Crash Closes Eastbound I-80 in the Sierra
A big rig crash closed eastbound Interstate 80 in Truckee early Tuesday morning.The crash happened around 3:30 a.m., according to California Highway Patrol logs. KCRA 3 traffic expert Brian Hickey says the truck trailer split open, flipping the big rig on its side. Debris was scattered across lanes due to the impacts. A photo shared by CHP Truckee shows that cranes are being used to upright and clear the big rig from the scene.CHP said there is no estimated time of reopening.Drivers are being turned around at the truck scales as crews work to clear the crash.See road conditions here.This is a developing story.
