Crane man killed in crash on I-69 in Greene County
GREENE COUNTY, Ind. — A Crane man was killed in a crash on Interstate 69 in Greene County Sunday morning. A notification from the Indiana Department of Transportation indicates that I-69 was closed in both directions at mile marker 100 around 4:45 a.m. In a Facebook post, Indiana State Police confirmed the closures were implemented to allow investigators to examine the scene of a fatal crash. ISP identified the person killed in the crash as a Crane man, though they did not release his name or age. Crane is located in Martin County near where U.S. Highway 231 and I-69 meet. State police received assistance at the crash scene from the Greene County Sheriff's Department, Greene County EMS and the Greene County Coroner's Office. Local firefighters also responded to the area to help troopers. As of 11:40 a.m. Sunday, all lanes of I-69 were open at mile marker 100.
