Covington deadly SUV crash under investigation
The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly crash near Covington.Deputies were dispatched to Oaklawn Drive near Pine Crest Drive in the Tchefuncta Club Estates neighborhood at approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday in reference to a single-vehicle crash.They said an SUV left the roadway for an unknown reason, entered a ditch, struck a tree stump and caught fire.The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office said no additional information is available at this time.
