Columbia teenager hospitalized after two-car crash
A teenager was left in serious condition following a Wednesday crash in Boone County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reported that a 2006 Hyundai Sonata was traveling south on Route Z, south of I-70. Around 7:10 p.m., an eastbound 2022 Toyota Corolla failed to yield to the southbound car. The Toyota made a left turn and then struck the left side of the Hyundai. The 17-year-old girl driving the Hyundai sustained critical injuries in the crash and was transported to University Hospital by EMS. MSHP reported that she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
