Columbia man identified as victim in fatal I-70 crash on Saturday
The victim of a serious crash was identified by police on Monday afternoon. The Columbia Police Department (CPD) had responded to the accident near the 132.2-mile marker of I-70 around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. A vehicle driven by 69-year-old Elbert Allen, of Columbia, was traveling eastbound when he crashed into a guardrail . He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, but was later pronounced deceased, according to a press release. CPD noted that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
