CCSO investigates fatal collision along Highway 61
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that happened on Tuesday night near Magnolia Plantation. Deputies say they responded to Highway 61 near Magnolia Plantation. The agency's initial investigation discovered that a pickup truck was traveling northbound on Highway 61 when it left the roadway to the right and struck a tree. The report stated that the driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS. The Charleston County Coroner's Office will provide the victim's identity when appropriate. The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash and encourages anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 843-202-1700.
