Case dropped in 2025 Orange County hit-and-run incident

The Circuit Nine Orange-Osceola State Attorney Monique Worrell's office has chosen not to pursue the case against Jermaine Adolphus Williams, the alleged driver of a pick-up truck involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident on July 7. Due to insufficient evidence, Williams will not be taken to trial. Marie Alcime expressed frustration in an interview with WESH 2 Investigates, stating that she feels let down by the State Attorney's office and believes justice is not being served for her family. The decision was made following a "no information notice" issued by the State Attorney's office on the charge of "leaving the scene of a crash with death." Despite initial statements from Williams, which led to his arrest, and a witness positively identifying him as the driver, the case was complicated by the murder of the witness and the destruction of potential evidence. The Alcime family is disappointed and believes the responsible party for their loved one's death will not be held accountable. Although Williams will not face trial for the Orlando crash, his driver's license is currently suspended following prior driving incidents. The office of State Attorney Monique Worrell declined to provide further comment.
