Car totaled, people survive after slamming into moose in Maine
Three people survived after a car hit a moose in Alton.Milford Fire/Rescue says it was called to Bennoch Road in Alton at about 3 a.m. on Wednesday to provide mutual aid. The car was found off the road with three people trapped inside, including two with serious injuries.All three were freed from the vehicle and taken to an area hospital.The vehicle was totaled, with the impact shattering the windshield.Officials did not comment on the condition of the moose. According to data from the Maine Department of Transportation, there have been at least 69 crashes involving moose in Maine this year. The data shows half of those crashes were in June.
