Car crashes into railroad bridge supports during chase in Cleveland
CLEVELAND (WJW) -- A driver was rescued after crashing into the supports of a railroad bridge during a brief police chase early Tuesday morning, May 19, on Cleveland’s west side. The crash happened about 2 a.m. near Madison Avenue and West 112th Street, after officers with the Lakewood Police Department were involved in a pursuit, according to FOX 8 crews at the scene. Video from the scene showed the suspect vehicle crashed into the bridge supports. The car came to rest on the sidewalk underneath the railroad bridge. Crews from the Cleveland and Lakewood fire departments freed the driver from the vehicle. The driver was transported from the scene and has not been identified.
