Car crashes into Kalamazoo County Administration Building Saturday

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — The Kalamazoo County Administration Building was damaged after a car crashed into the lobby Saturday.  In a social media post, Kalamazoo’s county government said the elevator and doors on the Kalamazoo Avenue side of the building were damaged.  “Kalamazoo County Administration building was damaged today after a two car collision sent a vehicle into our lobby,” the county's commissioner Jen Strebs wrote on social media. “Thankfully this occurred after hours and no one was injured in the accident. The building is being secured and further communications will follow as needed for the public.”  The building will be open Monday and was deemed "structurally sound and safe to occupy,” the county government said.  The Kalamazoo Avenue entrance will be closed and the elevator is out of service.  Visitors will need to use the south entrance.
