Boyle Heights fatal crash leaves 1 dead, car wrapped around pole
Emergency crews are responding to a fatal crash in Los Angeles’ Boyle Heights neighborhood Friday morning. The two-vehicle collision was reported near East 4th Street and South Clarence Street at 5:44 a.m. Emergency crews extricated one patient from a vehicle, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. No information regarding the victim’s identity was immediately released. Sky5 was over the scene at 6:45 a.m., where a badly damaged black sedan could be seen after it apparently slammed into a pole. A white canopy had been set up on the sidewalk near the wreckage. A second patient was evaluated by medical personnel at the scene but declined transport to a hospital, officials said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
